Nachdem in den letzten Wochen fast alle Nationalparks und State Parks in den USA wegen Corona geschlossen waren, beginnt jetzt ganz langsam wieder die Öffnung. Hier eine Liste der Nationalparks mit den geplanten Öffnungdaten:

Stand 11.05.2020 sind dies:


Badlands National Park, South Dakota:
Visitor center and entrance stations closed, park roads, overlooks, and trails open.

Big Hole National Battlefield, Montana:
Trails at the battlefield are open.

Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, Montana and Wyoming:
Access returned Afterbay and Three Mile launch ramps accessing the Bighorn River;
Bighorn River and Afterbay Lake access, via Grapevine Road for fishing

Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, Tennessee and Kentucky:
Trails and backcountry camping open.

Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia/North Carolina:
Traffic will be allowed to travel Milepost 454 – 469
In addition, the following areas continue to be accessible: All parkway trails, and all other sections of the motor route in North Carolina and Virginia previously accessible to motor vehicle traffic.

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah:
The park reopened the main park road and all viewpoints to Rainbow Point,
Restrooms at Sunset Point (only restrooms open within the park), and trails within the Bryce Amphitheater area.
The park is open 24/7 but there are no options for overnight stays

Buffalo National River, Arkansas:
Beginning May 15, day use only access will resume for private and commercial floating on the Buffalo River, including all river access points
All trails within park boundaries, except for the Lost Valley Trail
Limited restroom facilities.

Cape Cod National Seashore, Massachusetts:
Footpath to Coast Guard Beach in Eastham.

Capitol Reef National Park, Utah:
Access reopens to day use in the South District (Waterpocket Fold), and overnight stays in Cedar Mesa campground
Day use in the North District (Cathedral Valley) and overnight stays in Cathedral Valley campground
Non-trailhead pullouts along Utah Highway 24 for scenic viewing

Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Oklahoma:
Road to Veterans Lake, which includes parking at Veterans Lake
Vault toilets at Veterans Lake, Veterans Lake Boat Launch; trails; Buckhorn, The Point, and Guy Sandy boat launches; fishing docks; picnic areas.

Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky:
All trails have reopened

Cumberland Island National Seashore, Georgia:
Beaches, public docking spaces, and trails are open.

Everglades National Park, Florida:
Main park road from the Homestead entrance to Flamingo
External restrooms at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center, Flamingo Marina and boat launch ramps
Flamingo Marina Store, restrooms, and gas pumps
Flamingo Fish Cleaning Station and restroom,
Chekika Day Use Area (roads and surrounding areas only)
In addition, entry fees are waived, and the following spaces continue to be available: Marine waters of Everglades National Park, beach campsites in wilderness.

Fire Island National Seashore, New York:
All beaches and trails open.

Fort Donelson National Battlefield, Kentucky/Tennessee:
All park lands of Fort Donelson, during normal operating hours, park roads and trails for pedestrian use, river overlook and artillery batteries open.

Fort Laramie National Historic Site, Wyoming.
Grounds and trails open

George Washington Carver National Monument, Missouri:
Carver Trail, open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., picnic area, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., public restrooms, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Utah/Arizona:
All boats will be allowed to launch at the Lake Powell main launch ramps at Bullfrog and Wahweap for day use on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Public rest rooms on those launch ramps will also be open the same dates.
The Wahweap Swim Beach public restroom will reopen Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The public restroom at Dangling Rope will reopen Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Motorized and non-motorized small watercraft rentals at Wahweap and Bullfrog, for day use only, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Wahweap Marina Store and Sinclair gas and retail.
Takeout food from the Wahweap Grille will be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Wahweap RV Park and Campground (including laundry and shower facilities) and the campground store.

Beginning May 15, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area will reopen access to:
Lake Powell Main Public Launch Ramps at Bullfrog and Wahweap will be open seven days a week to all boats and begin overnight use.
Lake Powell Halls Crossing launch ramp will reopen to all boats Friday, Saturday, Sunday for day use only, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Wahweap District’s Swim Beach public restroom will be open seven days a week.
Bullfrog Picnic Area Public Restrooms seven days per week.

Beginning May 15, Glen Canyon’s concessioner (Aramark) will reopen access to:
Motorized and non-motorized small watercraft rentals at Wahweap and Bullfrog seven days per week.
Houseboat rentals at Wahweap and Bullfrog Marinas.

Beginning May 20, Glen Canyon’s concessioner at Hite (Ticaboo Investment Holdings) will reopen access to:
The Hite RV and Campground and Outpost Store will resume operations.

Beginning May 21, Glen Canyon’s concessioner (Aramark) will reopen access to:
Halls Crossing: Halls Crossing RV Park and Campground, marina store and village store, laundry and showers.
Bullfrog: Defiance House Lodge and Gift Shop, Anasazi Restaurant, boat rentals, Boat and Go Store, and Bullfrog Dock and Stock.
Wahweap: Lodging, the Rainbow Room Restaurant, the Wind Café, Driftwood To Go/Drinks, Driftwood Pool, and Escalante Pool at Lake Powell Resort.
Wahweap: Wahweap Grille will begin offering limited indoor seating, in addition to takeout.
Wahweap: Wahweap Dock and Stock.

Beginning May 22, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area will reopen access to:
The Lake Powell Halls Crossing public launch ramp will reopen seven days a week to all boats and begin overnight use.
The following primitive campgrounds will be reopened for overnight use: Lone Rock (located between Greenhaven, Arizona and Big Water, Utah); and Stanton Creek (located near Bullfrog).

The following day use areas will be reopened: the Wahweap Overlook and the Chains area (both located near Page, Arizona); Farley Canyon (located near Bullfrog, Utah); and North Wash (located near Hite, Utah).
The Stateline Launch Ramp located in the Wahweap District near Page, Arizona, will be reopened, seven days a week.
The Lees Ferry Ramp restroom will be reopened, seven days a week.
Wahweap Picnic Area restrooms will reopen, seven days a week.

Gulf Islands National Seashore in Florida and Mississippi:
The Okaloosa area, no restrooms, the Naval Live Oaks Area, Santa Rosa Area open.

Hovenweep National Monument, Utah:
Beginning May 14, access will reopen to Roads, trails, and restrooms

Jewell Cave National Monument, South Dakota:
Surface trails open

Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Nevada:
Boulder Entrance Station, Lake Mead Parkway Entrance Station, Lake Mead Boulevard Entrance Station, Northshore Entrance Station, Cottonwood Cove Entrance Station.
Annual passes required for the following locations in Arizona: Willow Beach, Temple Bar, Katherine Landing.
Parking lots, launch ramps, overlooks, beaches and picnic areas will reopen.

Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky:
Surface trails are open

Mount Rainier National Park, Washington:
Backcountry  is accessible for dispersed recreation such as hiking and winter recreation

Mount Rushmore National Memorial, South Dakota:
Visitor center and educational and interpretive programs suspended, grounds open 5 a.m.-11 a.m.

Natchez Trace Parkway, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi:
Access has reopened to parking on the road shoulder, from mile marker 104 through 115 and the Ross Barnett Reservoir Overlook and parking lot
All other outdoor spaces, including all roadways, trails, pullouts, and roadside exhibits along the parkway remain accessible to the public.

Natural Bridges National Monument, Utah:
Beginning May 14, access will reopen to Roads, trails, and restrooms

New River Gorge National River, West Virginia.
All hiking trails open

Ninety Six National Historic Site, South Carolina:
Trails open 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Missouri:
Park concession operations and outfitters will be authorized to open for business at their discretion, as they are able to meet CDC guidelines
Camping on gravel bars while engaging in multi-day floats and dispersed camping along the Ozark Trail while engaging in multi-day hikes will be allowed
The spring branch hiking trails at Big Spring and Alley Spring will reopen, as well as the staircase into Devils Well

Padre Island National Seashore, Texas:
Overnight beach camping on North Beach and South Beach, Yarborough Pass 4WD road

Pinnacles National Park, California:
The park is closed to all day-use visitors and vehicular traffic, although the campground is open for campers with reservations

Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, Kansas.
40 miles of trails are open

Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota:
All trails and trailheads within park boundaries, all roads in the North and South Unit (except South Unit road failure road), limited restroom facilities, picnic areas, backcountry camping and the Elkhorn Ranch Unit were all open.

Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve in Florida:
Visitors were allowed to access trails and boat ramps, including trails at Theodore Roosevelt Area, Spanish Pond and Cedar Point

Virgin Islands National Park, U.S. Virgin Islands:
Trails, beaches, parking areas, and waters are open.

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, Missouri:
Tour road, battlefield, trails open

Wind Cave National Park, South Dakota:
Roads and trails open. Elevators remain out of commission, so no cave tours.
